I put in the words nude+art & am pleasantly surprised by these finds from Russian Online Gallery, Art Volga. Many of the pieces shown mimic well known styles, but these two stood on their own, and made me smile. Very little information about the artists was available. More about the artwork & gallery here:

Miss Willis has devoted most of her off-hours this past fall to her increasing interest in the field of underwater photography. “I’ve always been kind of an amateur photo bug,” says Dinah, “So when my mom bought me a Yashica 35-millimeter camera for my birthday last August, and a skindiving friend of mine helped me build a waterproof plexiglass housing for it, I really wanted to learn all I could about underwater camera techniques.” (“Letter Perfect,” Playboy, December 1965.)
My husband got me hella photography shit for my Lomo Diana F+ camera for Christmas. Hella. Like all kinds of nifty gadgets and attachments. I don’t know what that’s about or how he remembered me talking about all that shit over a year ago, but I’m really grateful, although nervous because it adds extra pressure for my photos to not suck. I guess I should have bought him art supplies … I didn’t even think to. I’m a sucky, shoddy, estranged dick. Sorry, husbandoh.

Dinah’s few stay-at-home evenings are spent brushing up on her painting (“I stick to watercolors most of the time, but I’ve dabbled in everything from oils to toothpick sculpture”), listening to her collection of country-and-western LPs (“Hank Williams is my ideal”) and cooking Mexican dinners (“Outside of tacos and enchiladas I’m a total washout on the domestic scene”).
Hank Williams and tacos? Kiddo, I’m yours. I will even tolerate your retarded fuckin’ pillow-dogs (she mentions that she breeds show mini-poodles; we can keep them around to feed to the Great Dane/Mastiff mix I will one day breed).

Actually, a spin on the wiki reveals that Ms. Willis has been firmly spoken for since not long after this December pictorial was published: “Dinah married a musician signed to The Tokens B. T. In the natural chart for Washington, DC the transiting Sun was at 29 degrees, 26 seconds Saggitarius, 4th House. An orb of 1.5 degrees was applied in my evaluation even though the aspect involved the Sun. Quincunxes usually pertain to illnesses and death, but this particular quincunx brought to light issues that forced choices between two or more positions or opposing factions like weather vs man. In the bi-wheel chart, the transiting Sun moved to 29 degrees, 26 seconds in Saggitarius, 10th House; thus, triggering 10th house figures having to do with anyone who has power or is a power broker over another. After this past weekend, one thing remains clear, Mother Nature is the supreme power broker in our lives. If nothing else, the transiting quincunx Sun helped Mother Nature hold her position. She made us stop, think, call loved ones, read, open mail, cook at home and find creative and playful ways to spend our time albeit forced indoors, or if you live in Arizona stuck in traffic. Connie Hines, best known for her role with the famous talking horse “Mr. Ed,” had some moves up her sleeve claiming she was born in New York City when she was actually from Dedham, Massachusetts. But at least I was able to obtain a birth date (all be they false) from the hollywood crew, but no birthdate was given for pro-democracy and Iranian Dissident Cleric Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri. His obituary read that he was born in 1922 to a poor family in Najafabad. Montazeri was an independent thinker who had his occasional bursts of temper: as a farmer’s son, he continued to be a straight talker. By the age of 24, he was regarded as a bright Islamic scholar. His interest in mysticism (Could this have included astrology and divination involving the Arabic Parts and Alburini Lots!) and ethics led him to join Khomeini’s small circle of private and trusted students, and he established himself as a respected teacher of theology. In honor of the season I decided it was time to have somewhat of a misfit date for the season. Something I would normally do with a girlfriend, something that bordered on cute and adorable.
Claire, one of the waitress I met on my bartending shift the other night, came over last night for a marathon of pizza, cheap beer, and Christmas specials. I picked up a bar shift at my old restaurant job because, quite frankly, I didn’t want to spend a Saturday night with my parents…or more than likely myself and my dad’s eighteen year old scotch. So I tended bar and I hit on college girls, and more than a couple of the waitresses that night. I love henna. I love the scent of it, the feel of it, the beautiful, temporary, painless design it leaves on my skin for myself and others to admire. Though in America henna has become just another body art, in India it is an important aspect of the marriage ritual. A bride’s hands and feet are covered with intricate henna designs as part of her wedding outfit, the designs often containing sentimental or auspicious symbols, calling for the gods’ blessing.

If you would like to give a portraiture shoot to someone as a Christmas gift, I would be happy to provide you with a personalised gift certificate. Portraiture shoots start at £125 and last approximately an hour. For longer shoots, inclusion of numerous concepts and HOME shoots for clients outside of Edinburgh (my studio is in Edinburgh city centre but some of my equipment is portable for home shoots), prices will be higher. A make-up artist can be arranged too, although this isn’t included in the shoot price. Please get in touch for a quote before booking!
Finished, fully processed, images (a print-resolution set AND a smaller set, perfect to use online or send by email) will be provided on a CD within two weeks of the shoot. I can recommend a print service which I have had only positive experiences with or am happy to handle printing for a small admin fee.

It’s a chilly Sunday in New York, and I’m feeling a little run down, probably a result of the rambunctious singing, dancing, and piñata-smashing from my niece’s birthday party yesterday. She’s seven! And Olivia thoroughly revelled in her role as girl of the hour, at Rosa Mexicano on Columbus Avenue. It was a great party! Even greater guacamole
So now I’m heading over to my mother’s house to help her hang an enormous Christmas wreath, and I do mean enormous. Definitely a two-person job. After that I’m coming back home to stretch and do some exercise so I’m in tip top shape for my new week-long gig which starts tomorrow. Five days of painting and drawing, one continual pose I believe. Better strengthen up, and hopefully make a good first impression.
This will be my last full week of work before the holiday break. After this I have just a few jobs here and there at individual groups, a private session, and one booking at Spring Studio. But overall my schedule will be light until after new year’s, and I’m more than ready for it. I’m pretty tired physically. If there’s any group of people who need time off to rest, rejuvenate, and recharge, it’s professional art models. Besides, I want to finish my holiday shopping, clean the house, and go out, hang with friends and have some social fun <– now there’s a novel idea! A social life
